Key Mechanics

  • Shields are disabled during the event (but no resources lost on defeat)
  • If your city is defeated twice, you won't be attacked again (but still earn points from reinforcing)
  • Teleporting during the event cancels your participation for those waves
  • Don't reinforce cities that have already been defeated twice - no points earned!
  • Points based on % of attackers killed - 70% killed = 70% of max points

Wave-by-Wave Guide

Point Distribution: Waves 17-19 alone give about 31% of all points! Make sure you and your alliance are online and ready for these critical waves.

Approximate Wave Timing (30 min event):

Wave 7 (Online): ~10 min  |  Wave 10 (HQ): ~15 min  |  Wave 14 (Online): ~21 min  |  Wave 17 (Critical): ~25 min  |  Wave 20 (Final HQ): ~30 min

Times are approximate and may vary by difficulty level.

Troop Composition

For City Defense
Infantry dominates! In turn-based combat, Infantry engage first. If stats are high enough, they kill bandits before Lancers/Marksmen attack.

Send: 90% Infantry + 10% Lancer
For HQ Defense
Same composition works best for Alliance HQ:

Send: 90% Infantry + 10% Lancer

Avoid Marksmen - they contribute minimally to kills.
Why Infantry First?
Battle mechanics in WOS are turn-based. Infantry attack first in the order. With enough stats, Infantry can eliminate all bandits in the first turn - leaving nothing for Lancers/Marksmen.

Crazy Joe Strategy Guide

Core Strategies

1. Troop Swapping (Most Important)
Send all your troops to reinforce allies. This allows others to reinforce your empty city and earn kills. You do the same for them.

Key: Don't stack too many reinforcements on one city - troops compete for kills, reducing points per person.
2. Zero Defense Strategy
Advanced tactic: Send ALL troops to reinforce allies, leaving your city empty. Your allies' troops earn kills at their cities while you earn points from your troops' kills elsewhere.

Warning: Requires alliance coordination! Don't accidentally leave cities undefended.
3. HQ Timing
After Wave 9: Recall your best troops and send to Alliance HQ.
After Wave 10: Send troops back to reinforce allies.
After Wave 19: Recall again for final HQ defense (Wave 20).

Missing HQ waves costs significant points!
4. Online Waves Priority
Waves 7, 14, and 17 are online-only. Only players actively in the game can earn points from these waves.

Set reminders! Wave 17 especially gives massive points.
5. Rotation Groups
Form groups of 3-4 players and rotate troops equally. Example: Send 60k troops to 3 allies, receive 60k from each.

This ensures everyone gets roughly equal reinforcements and point opportunities.
6. Troop Threshold
Under 300k troops or FC below 26? Focus on defending your own base rather than zero-defense strategies.

Overextending with limited troops spreads your defense too thin and costs points.

Hero Setup

Defense Heroes Matter! Keep your best heroes at home and set them as Defense Heroes on your barricade. They use their Expedition Skills to help reinforcing allies. Don't use growth heroes like Zinman!

Best Defense Heroes
Heroes with attack and damage buffs:

Jeronimo - +25% damage to all troops
Mia - Damage boost skills
Bradley - +25% attack to all troops
Heroes to Avoid
Growth Heroes:
- Zinman (no combat skills)
- Gina (only march speed)

Defensive Heroes:
- Hendrik (HP/Defense only)
- Patrick (defensive focus)

Pre-Event Preparation

  • Coordinate with alliance: Ensure max members are online, especially during waves 7, 14, 17
  • Assign roles: Designate who defends HQ during waves 10 and 20
  • Send troops early: Start reinforcing allies BEFORE the event begins
  • Activate buffs: Use army capacity boosts, pets, and consumables
  • Position near allies: Faster march times mean more efficient reinforcing

Scoring Mechanics

City Owner Points
City owner earns points regardless of who kills bandits. If reinforcements kill 100% of attackers, city owner gets full points even with 0 personal kills.
Reinforcement Points
Reinforcing players earn points based on their proportion of kills. However, reinforcements only earn 50% of normal points.
Partial Kill Points
Points scale with kill percentage. Kill 70% of wave = earn 70% of max points. Always aim for 100% elimination!
